10 Fed Holydays of Faith, Fantasy, or Fallacy

Although the individual 50 states don’t have to adopt federal holidays, there’s essentially two basic types of holidays the Feds have declared for Americans; holidays based on Christian mythological lies, legends or fables of fantasy, and holidays based on prevarications spread by government propaganda, or some combination of both. With this in mind, let’s take a look at the faith, fantasy and fallacies behind all ten holidays that our federal government deems worthy of celebrating with a day or more off from labor.
New Year’s Day celebrated on January 1:
This is a Christian based holiday stemming from the Catholic created Gregorian calendar. It was decreed by Pope Gregory XIII, for whom it was named, on 24 February 1582 via ‘the papal bull’. This calendar was adopted because the all powerful medieval Catholic Church wanted the Julian calendar changed to have Easter and Christmas celebrated at a time correlating to that agreed at the First Council of Nicaea in 325 ‘AD’ [After Death of fictional son of imaginary Skygod]. Most non-Catholic countries initially objected to adopting this Catholic invention of the Gregorian calendar based on the death of their imaginary skygod’s mythological [lacking factual basis or historical validity] son, Jesus. Pre-revolutionary America, along with England, Scotland and the rest of the British Empire, did not adopt the Gregorian calendar until 1752.
I suggest a more logical ‘permanently fixed’ calendar based on the earth’s “Orbital Date”, rather than one based on the death of some fictional, or mythological son of an imaginary Skygod. Such a ‘fixed orbital date calendar’ is discussed in a Discovery Channel article called ‘Star Trek Math Inspires Calendar Reforms‘.
Martin Luther King Day celebrated on the 3rd Monday in January:
Here we ironically have a holiday proclaimed by the very federal government that was directly responsible for Martin Luther King’s execution through assassination. Specifically, Hoover’s FBI COINTELPRO program, with the full knowledge and approval of the politicians, destroyed the leadership of the civil rights movement, intentionally, covertly, and with malice of forethought. According to a Memphis jury’s verdict on December 8,1999, in the wrongful death lawsuit of the King family versus Loyd Jowers, “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated by a conspiracy that included agencies of the US government.”
This is a highly partisan Fed holiday supported by essentially now defunct Labor Unions in contract negotiations, introduced as a Bill by Dem Rep. John Conyers, opposed by the notoriously racist NC republican, Senator Jesse Helms, and first devout NeoCon Christian republican President, Ronald Reagan, who relented in his opposition to this holiday only after Congress passed the King Day Bill with an overwhelming, veto-proof majority. To this day, right wingnuts and white Christian identity groups mimic NC Senator Jesse Helms beliefs that King’s human right efforts had Communist connections, want this holiday annulled.
I suggest Martin Luther King Day be renamed ‘Government Sanctioned Assassination Day’ to honor JFK, MLK and RFK as victims of US government sanctioned hits each amazingly accomplished by one ‘lone gunman’.
Washington’s Birthday celebrated on the 3rd Monday in February:
State governments and private businesses have typically deemed this holiday as Presidents’ Day. Section 6103(a) of title 5 of the United States Code officially designates this holiday as “Washington’s Birthday”, urban legend has it that Richard Nixon issued a proclamation calling for a Presidents’ Day on the third Monday to honor all US presidents. Advertisers helped to promote this urban legend a few decades ago by designating a “Presidents’ Day” sales period.
George Washington was actually born on February 11, 1731 under the Julian pagan calendar in use before England’s calendar reformation in September 1752. His birthday turned into February 22, 1732 when the Catholic Gregorian calendar took over America in 1752. The regressive, deeply Christian state of Georgia celebrates Washington’s Birthday the day after Christmas. Apparently their Christian attitudes find his deist accomplishments unworthy of a special day off from work.
It is, or was a day intended to honor the man who is known to Americans as “The Father of our Country”. However it’s a day perhaps more well-known for discount sales throughout the land. More recently, US media and even the federal government have been referring to this holiday as “Presidents’ Day” to specifically honor our illegally appointed, and arguably most reviled and loathed President in US history.
I suggest this holiday be renamed “Founding Fathers Enlightenment Day” honoring Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and other deist founders for their dedication to the wall of separation between church and state that no longer exists here in America. You can thank the Texas-Bush republican party platform for tearing down this wall of separation. Starting before the 21st century and to this very day, in a blatant act of treason, the GOP platform reads: “Our Party pledges to do everything within its power to restore the original intent of the First Amendment of the United States and dispel the myth of the separation of Church and State.”
Memorial Day celebrated on the last Monday in May:
As Einstein once said, “Nationalism is an infantile disease; It is the measles of mankind”. Memorial Day celebrates all US military veterans living and dead who ‘allegedly’ fought for the ‘freedom’ of Americans here at home. Never mind not one soldier has ever fought for your, my, or any American’s freedom since the Civil War, excluding WW II. Although not a real war, the Cuban Missile Crisis, unlike the US offensive undeclared wars in Korea, or Vietnam, did halt a ‘viable’ nuke threat from a Communist nation. These holidays can only be viewed today solely as .
Both Memorial and Veterans Day are holidays our politicians publicly revel in America’s military supremacy having a combined cost of every other nation in the world combined. As US citizens we’re supposed to be honored to pay for our government’s might makes right bully attitude towards the nations of earth and its inhabitants. See a “Sampling of Deaths From US Military Interventions & Propping Up Corrupt Dictators” after WW 2 to get an idea of the millions of the world’s inhabitants murdered around the globe by US veterans ‘honored’ on these two holidays for their fictional deeds protecting our ‘freedom’ here at home. Most of these post WW2 ‘interventions’ where US Soldiers murdered millions of global citizens in the phony name of ‘democracy’ occurred during republican administrations. “Although nearly all these post-World War II interventions were carried out in the name of “freedom” and “democracy,” nearly all of them in fact defended dictatorships controlled by pro-U.S. elites.”
I suggest rather than honoring US veterans, who since WW2 have only proven they will follow US government ‘orders’ to commit genocide, we instead honor and recognize the millions of innocent humans around the globe who’ve been murdered by the US military under the ludicrous guise of ‘Democracy and Freedom’. Anyone have a name for such a holiday? How about a ‘Constitution Day’ like the Russians celebrate to bring attention to the fact our government no longer abides by the legally binding contract they have with ‘we the people’ to uphold the constitution.
Independence Day celebrated on July 4:
Despite the genesis of Independence Day, it is uncommon for Americans to express anti-British sentiment on the 4th of July or view it as a celebration of anti-colonialism. Americans consider this holiday a celebration of America’s political values motivated from the Declaration of Independence with its principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately in the 21st century, these esteemed principles simply no longer exist in any way close to what our founding fathers intended for American citizens.
All that separated America from a Police State has now been removed from the suspension of habeas corpus and the passing of the anthrax-aided Patriot Act forced through Congress. The United States government has been twice fraudulently overthrown in the first two presidential elections by ‘God’s Own Party’ [GOP] of republicans. The majority of Americans now believe there’s significant evidence to prove the illegally installed Bush Messiah and his administration were behind an attack on Congress to pass the Patriot Act after being complicit in an attack on America’s own citizens on 911. Esteemed Professor and Law Expert Francis A Boyle says the <a href=”blank.com” target=”_blank”>war on terror is facilitating the downfall of The Republic, concentration camps are in place and US citizens are the targets</a>.
I suggest we rename July 4th as ‘Revoloution Day’ by revolting in the streets against our 21st century fascist US government as a way of honoring our founding fathers’ principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that have been taken away from US.
Labor Day celebrated on the 1st Monday in September:
Labor Day was born out of President Cleveland’s desire for re-election in an attempt to appease America’s working class after he’d sent federal troops to break up the Pullman Railroad Strike. Union workers at the Pullman Palace Car Company in Chicago went on strike to protest wage cuts and the firing of union representatives. Fed troops killed 24 union strikers and Grover Cleveland suspended the constitutional right to assembly in 7 states. In the immediate wake of the strike in an election year, legislation was rushed unanimously through both houses of Congress, and the bill arrived on Cleveland’s desk just six days after his troops had broken the Pullman strike. Working class voters didn’t fall for Cleveland’s transparent ploy to honor them with a Labor Day. He didn’t get re-elected.
So this is yet another decreed holiday from our federal government after it sanctioned murder directly related to the very holiday it declared. In this case, a White House sanctioned mass murder of 24 union workers by Fed troops for striking against a dystopian community and feudally organized company run by its overlord, Pullman.
The United States has the bloodiest history of labor of any industrialized nation on Earth. This is because our federal government, excepting both Roosevelts, has repeatedly been supportive of corporations rather than unions and the American workers. Labor Unions in the US are almost solely responsible for advancing labor rights and conditions, yet today Unions represent about 10% of the private workforce, down from 50% just 60 years in the 1950s.
Ralph Nader expresses his feelings about the realities of Labor Day in a CommonDreams.org article: “We should all be ashamed that American labor law and American labor law enforcement makes a mockery of workers’ basic rights to organize, join unions and exercise collective bargaining rights. Much of the flawed framework of American labor law is traceable to the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947. Fifty-six years after its passage, it is time for Congress to repeal this denial of workers’ civil rights.”
After 6 years of an illegally appointed President at the dawn of the 21st century, the failed American Dream has given way to a neofascist nightmare of corporatism. The suppression of organized labor is a trademark sign of the fascist state as defined by its creator Mussolini in his 1923 Doctrine of Fascism pamphlet: “If classical liberalism spells individualism, Fascism spells government. But not a government of, by, and for We The People - instead, it would be a government of, by, and for the most powerful corporate interests in the nation.”
I suggest Labor Day return to its original ‘May Day’ status with rioting in the streets against our oppressors. It would more appropriately be called ‘Wage Slave Day’ to recognize the reality that this ‘great social experiment’ in America called unregulated capitalism has miserably failed. All social and moral restraints to the selfishness and greed stemming from unregulated capitalism have been removed.
Our economy is no longer capitalistic and our government is no longer democratic. None of the necessary conditions for competitive capitalism exists in today’s economy. The prerequisite for any democracy, honest, and fair elections, vanished from existence in 2000. Our most sacred freedoms stemming from the Bill of Rights and the constitution have been dismissed by a treasonist enemy of the state illegally occupying the White House. The constitution is a legally binding contract between ‘we the people’ and its government who have failed to honor this binding contract. Hence, all branches of our federal government are illegitimate.
Columbus Day celebrated on the 2nd Monday in October:
The modern-day fictional account of Christopher Columbus is a myth perpetuated Washington Irving in the early 19th century. What should be most offensive to today’s American Christians about this celebration of conquest, enslavement and genocide by Spaniards and Columbus, is that it was all done in the name of their holy savior, Jesus. For Columbus, “capturing native women for his men to use as sex slaves was typical behavior“and ruled acceptable according to their Christian Bible of Bullshit. For the Catholic Spanish conquerors of the Americas, like the British Protestants, human beings were referred to as Christians. The non-Christians, or the Indians, by definition, were sub-human.
Tens of millions of indigenous Americans were conquered, murdered, enslaved and ‘converted’ as a result of Christian evangelism. They used their religion to justify annihilating entire tribes of people and its culture. The Native American Holocaust committed by predominantly Spanish Catholic and British Protestant colonists resulted in an almost a complete annihilation of the entire American Indian populace in numbers that eventually totaled close to 100 million. This was a medieval time when Catholic and Protestants were fighting each other with many battles each killing off 10s of thousands Christians on either side. Unfortunately they didn’t exterminate each other before moving on to nearly exterminate native Americans.
I suggest Columbus Day be changed to a Day of Christian Atonement. A day every year Christians can be atoned, or do penance for their egregious treatment and wrong doings against millions of non-Christians. A day all American non-Christians can legally demand their Christian oppressors to publicly bend over for a good old fashioned Christian bare naked ass belt whipping they so deserve.
Veterans’ Day celebrated on the 2nd Monday in November:
This holiday honors only veterans that have died allegedly fighting for our ‘freedom’. Refer to Memorial Day above, because “If Freedom is NOT Free, then ALL Veterans have Died in Vain“.
Thanksgiving Day celebrated on the 4th Thursday in November:
This is really a story of America’s very first terrorist Protestant doomsday cult committing genocide on America’s native inhabitants, much like Columbus Day celebrates the Spanish Catholic genocide and enslavement of American natives. The Thanksgiving myth is part of a larger myth; one portraying our nation’s early Puritan Protestant settlers as heroic figures escaping persecution, when they were really escaping crimes of treason. The Puritans were kicked out of England for overthrowing its government in 1649 much like their Evangelical Protestant religious right offspring have done here in America 350 years later from merging with the GOP. Bringing their Dominion Mandate for theocracy with self-fulfilling Armageddon prophecies of psychotic genocidal madness, the Protestant Puritan Doomsday Cult predecessors of today’s psychotic Protestant Evangelicals brought to an early America its first religious cult of doomsday terrorists.

Mercenaries of the English and Dutch attacked and surrounded the village; burning down everything and shooting whomever try to escape. The American Thanksgiving is the most loathsome, day of the year rejoicing in a White Christian Identity and Supremacy that celebrates the pure glorification of genocide and Christian motivated racist barbarity. No need to suggest a more appropriate name for this holiday. The “National Day of Mourning” was first held in 1970 and many Native Americans and their supporters have protested against this Thanksgiving ‘whitewash’ ever since by gathering at the top of Coles Hill overlooking Plymouth Rock.
Christmas Day celebrated on December 25:
Last but not least, Mythmas, er Christmas, the most celebrated Christian holiday in America. A country that’s parodoxically the most professedly Christian of all developed nations, while being the least Christian in its behavior; at least according to what that Christian ‘Prince of Peace’ advocates in that Bible of bullshit.
Thanks to the internet, most Americans by now, Christian or otherwise, have heard how the Christians stole the Winter-Solstice holidayfrom pre-Christian Germanic, Roman, and Celtic pagan sun-worshipers. What the 75% Christian population of America should really be questioning is faith-based mythological lies used as the only proof to support the existence of their historical Jesus. There’s not a tad of evidence supporting the existence of the Christian Jesus. All claims for this son of an imaginary Sky God are derived from hearsay accounts. Courts of law do not allow hearsay as evidence. nor do academic historians. There’s not the slightest physical evidence that supports any existence of a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts.
There’s even an Italian atheist now suing a priest for falsely claiming the historical Jesus existed. This Lawsuit is the first time in the history of mankind that a religion is being directly prosecuted in a law case that will end in verdict regarding specific and defined crimes. Two proofs have been sent to Cardinal Biffi about the not existence of Jesus Christ. Jesus [Fucking apparently his middle name] Christ is as fictional a historical figure as Santa Claus.
Since Jesus ‘Fucking’ Christ is a fairy tale like Santa Claus, I suggest we refer to the Christmas holiday as “Childrens’ Mythmas Day” so the kiddies still have a day they can be conforted by fairy tale figures in the sky bringing them gifts.
